What is sans-serif font?Sans-serif is a TYPE of font, not a name for an individual font. Calibri, Arial, and Helvetica are examples of sans-serif fonts. Times Roman, Cambria, and Garamond are examples of serif fonts."In typography, a sans-serif, sans serif, gothic, san serif or simply sanstypeface is one that does not have the small projecting features called "serifs" at the end of strokes. The term comes from the French word sans, meaning 'without.'" (Wikipedia) "Sans-serif" means "without curls."
Mrs. Carter, why do you care about sans-serif fonts?I have an eye condition that makes it hard for me to see text clearly. Those little "serifs" make it even harder for me. The way I see without my glasses (especially when I am tired) is captured by the vertical focus example in the picture. So, do a tired teacher a favor. Use sans-serif fonts to print your work. My eyeballs thank you.
